A giant squid made its way into Japan’s Toyama Bay on Christmas Eve, treating onlookers to a rare sighting of the magnificent creature. Japan seems to be the place to find these staggeringly large beasts: The first-ever images of a giant squid in the wild were snapped off the coast of the Ogasawara Islands in 2004, and the first film of a living adult came from the same area in 2012.

CNN reports that one intrepid diver had a close encounter with the real-life sea monster.

A NASA Rover has captured the claw of an actual, living alien on the surface of Mars – and the space agency made a botched attempt to cover it up.

At least, that’s the opinion of the tireless UFO hunter Scott C Waring of UFO Sightings Daily – behind sightings such as a baby polar bear, a ‘dark lady’, and a weird space crab on Mars.

UFO captured? Man says he has proof

CLANCY, Mont.— For nearly two years Dr. Richard O’Connor has kept two cameras pointed at the sky with the deep hope and belief that something might be out there.

And then, after nearly 280,000 photos captured by motion detection, it happened.

Or maybe not.

But O’Connor’s findings of what he believes are two unidentified flying objects has set off a barrage of email exchanges, some of them angry, in the community of UFO fans and experts.

Look! Is That A UFO Over Jesus’ Head?

The story of Christmas began when three wise men saw something strange in the sky and decided to investigate.

Anyone who’s seen a UFO can easily relate to what those wise men might have been thinking, and that’s what makes the images in these paintings so compelling.

Many unusual aerial objects depicted in paintings between the 14th to the early 18th century look, at first glance, like modern-day UFO sightings.

It’s easy to wonder why artists of those long-ago centuries seemed obsessed with including these curious objects in scenes surrounding the stories of the birth and death of Jesus Christ.

The first example here is a wall mural, or fresco, from 1350, “The Crucifixion,” artist unknown, in the Visoki Decani Monestary in Kosovo, Yugoslavia. Two odd-looking objects with “pilots” can be seen in the sky on both sides of Jesus.

Google it, and see what comes up. Seeing all those results and reading the stories online, it makes me feel like maybe I’m the only on that hasn’t seen them. It’s a topic that fascinates me. Not only that they exist, but what are they? They are called many different things, but the descriptions and stories are very similar. Where do they come from? Are they good, evil, or indifferent? Why do they come, and how do they choose who they appear to? These are just a few of the list of questions my mind generates as I find more and more accounts of people seeing these figures. Let me tell you why I became interested in this.

Awhile back, I was talking to my brother-in-law, Victor. He seems to be either sensitive, or have something about him that attracts spirits to him. This also appears to run in their family. They each have quite a few stories over the years of paranormal experiences. When you listen to the stories, you first think how unlucky he must have been to have lived in so many haunted places throughout his life. How could someone have such bad luck to run into it again and again? But then he tells you something that makes it all clear. It’s not the places he lives in, it’s him. He is followed.

‘Ghost child’ caught on camera by teens at Christmas dinner – or is it?

Two teenagers claim to have taken a picture of a ghost while they were out for a Christmas dinner.

Sophie Killip and Kayleigh Lomas, both 19, took a picture of the long tables and decorations decked out ready for a Christmas party.

But when they examined the snap an hour later they noticed a ghostly dark-haired child sitting at the end of the table.

The girl, who appeared to have cuts on her head, wore old fashioned clothes and seemed to be staring straight at the camera from sunken eyes.

The serious hunt for aliens around a mysterious star is jumpstarting a radical new way to make contact

Alien-hunting telescopes have peered at the mysterious star KIC8462852 and are quickly unraveling the theory that this star could harbor an advanced civilization.
The search is just the beginning of a much grander experiment for Doug Vakoch and his team at the new organization called SETI (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence) International, not to be confused with the SETI Institute.

For background: earlier this year, Yale postdoctoral graduate student Tabby Boyajian and Penn State astronomer Jason Wright discovered a bizarre and perplexing giant structure orbiting star KIC8462852, which is 1500 light years from Earth. It’s unlike anything they’ve ever seen.

Wright suggested that the giant structure could be what’s called a Dyson swarm (shown above). A Dyson swarm is a still-in-progress version of a hypothetical machine known as a Dyson sphere, which an intelligent civilization would construct around their host star to collect tremendous amounts of solar energy.

Maple Hill Cemetery is well-known across Alabama for being home to some important historical figures– many governors, Senators, and members of the Union and Confederate armies have made their final resting place the scenic burial ground. It was founded all the way back in 1822, and even though it didn’t receive the name “Maple Hill” until about 1901 (people just called it “the burial ground”) it’s been developed into a lovely spot, with gardens and ornate mausoleums. Maple Hill Cemetery is also famed for having the world’s scariest playground. Yep, a park inside a cemetery. The locals call it Dead Children’s Playground, and despite the blunt nickname, everyone seems to love it.

An Ancient Nessie? Long-Neck Dinos Once Prowled Scottish Lagoon

Hundreds of dinosaur footprints and handprints dating to 170 million years ago adorn the shore on the Isle of Skye, making it the largest dinosaur site ever discovered in Scotland, a new study finds.

The discovery proves that dinosaurs — likely long-necked, four-legged, herbivorous sauropods — splashed around Scotland during the Middle Jurassic period, the researchers said.

“These footprints were made in a lagoon, which is a pretty interesting environment for dinosaurs,” said study lead researcher Steve Brusatte, a paleontologist at the University of Edinburgh. “We can tell that they were making these footprints while they were walking underwater — probably shallow water.”

Watch ‘ghost’ of child caught on camera as it manifests in man’s front room

This is the spooky apparition which looks to be the ghost of a child captured floating on camera.

The eerie figure is caught on film appearing in a man’s front room before moving across the shot and back again.

The footage was uploaded to Facebook and has been viewed more than 600,000 times.

But instead of being scared of the ‘ghost’ the owner of the house was said to be delighted.

California family recalls underwater UFO incident

The event occurred on June 15, 1982.

“My stepfather and mother loved sailing in the 1980s,” the witness stated.“He owned a construction company and made good money. We would rent a sailboat for the weekend and sail to Catalina where my grandmother had a clothing store on the island. We sail over there many times.”

But the family had an odd encounter one evening when the witness, his stepfather and mother were sailing to Catalina.

Almost every day, new UFO images and videos are posted all over the Internet for everyone to see. Here’s one that, at first glance, may have you believing a fleet of otherworldly orbs were captured on video, maneuvering in wild patterns somewhere near Honolulu, Hawaii.

At least that’s what it looks like in the following video, posted on Oct. 21, 2015, by YouTube channel Earth & Space News. The UFOs — for lack of a better word at the moment — are seen hovering, moving rapidly, darting back and forth, merging with each other, blinking in and out in unison. That’s more than you normally get in a UFO video.

Who’s Haunting Fort Harrod?

t’s been 200 years since settlers and soldiers died defending Fort Harrod. The wind and rain has even erased the names of the victims off of the limestone grave markers, but are some of these victims still lingering at the tourist attraction?

LEX 18’s Richard Essex went to Harrodsburg to find out who is haunting the Old Fort Harrod State Park.

“So you had multiple deaths, heinous deaths, people being burned at the stake people being shot almost on a daily basis,” David Coleman, an employee at Fort Harrod, told LEX 18. “This was an extremely heinous place to live, if you lived through the day it was a very good day.”

NASA ‘cut space station live feed’ after ‘bizarre donut UFO stalked ISS’

A video posted to YouTube shows the circular object, which appears to have a hole in the middle, appear on the camera in the distance and then apparently travel at a similar speed and orbit to the ISS.

But less than a minute in the camera goes to a completely blue screen, which is what conspiracists within the UFO community claim is done to try to belatedly hide evidence of UFOs from the public.

Low flying UFOs over Tucson appear to change color

The event occurred beginning about 9 p.m. on November 8, 2015.

“A group of gray to copper forms was observed at approximately 30 feet altitude,” the witness stated.“The forms were in a V formation and moved quickly, silently and unwaveringly from north to south. We observed for approximately 10 seconds.”

The witness described the objects.

Fireballs are falling to Earth tonight in numbers we won’t see for another 10 years

Fireballs are extremely bright meteors, and right now Earth is in the midst of the Tuarid meteor shower, which is peaking on the night of Wednesday, Nov. 11.
“The best time to view the Taurids is from midnight to 3 am local time,” NASA wrote in a Reddit AMA. “There should be a handful per hour. Taurid rates are not high, but the ones you will see will be very bright.”

The peak of the shower — when we can see the most meteors per hour — is expected to have between seven to 10 meteors per hour, and some of those are almost certain to be a fireballs. The best way to watch any meteor shower is to get far away from city lights and look up, no special equipment required.

However, fireballs are bright enough to be seen even amidst city lights, so if you can’t get far away from the city, there’s still a chance you might spot one, or more.
